Project Manager at Urban Zoo, delivering websites, native apps and streaming services for sporting brands

Manchester, United Kingdom

About

I lead delivery of websites, native apps and streaming services for global sporting brands. I work with developers, designers, QA specialists and infrastructure architects on Urban Zoo's Gamechanger CMS and Streamline streaming product, taking projects from discovery to launch and beyond.

Over three years I've moved from running the World Snooker Tour platform to managing a portfolio across football, snooker and darts. Clients can see where every project stands because I write weekly status reports, agree launch must-haves in advance and track every third party that could slow us down, from data providers to DNS.

Managing a multi-skilled team of developers, designers, QA and infrastructure architects to build web applications, native mobile apps and content management systems for global sporting brands. Select projects are below; open any one for details.

World Snooker Tour2023 to present
  • Delivered the original web and app platform, with the website launching around the end of 2023 and the apps in early 2024.
  • Managed scope through a Project Initiation Document and re-planned the app timeline with extra user acceptance testing.
  • Now leading the move to our latest Gamechanger platform: a Sportradar data audit, a new design, a separate streaming site, targeting early 2027.
EFL Digital22 football clubs
  • Worked on the programme for a collective of 22 football clubs.
  • Set up advertising across clubs including Blackpool, Chesterfield, York City and Salford.
  • Began investigating a splash-page issue on the EFL's own site the same morning it was reported.
Celtic TVLaunched July 2026
  • Launched on 2 July 2026, ahead of the club's first pre-season friendly, after resolving 22 content and bug issues before go-live.
  • Ran the pricing and subscriber migration: new Stripe packages, old packages mapped across with pro-rata credit, and the previous payment key retired on schedule.
  • Ran go-live check-ins and weekly status reports with the club's digital, app and TV teams, and set up match-day support through a shared channel.
The National League web and app2025
  • Kicked off with a discovery session in January 2025 and ran bi-weekly status reports with the league.
  • Coordinated the Opta data contract, Kore single sign-on and a news import from Pitchero, and shared a go-live plan with the board.
Club websites, apps and streaming launches2023 to present
  • Directly involved in launches for Sunderland AFC, Stockport County, AFC Bournemouth and Notts County.
  • Took Bromley FC's video site live on 5 February 2026 and fixed a wrong DNS record on launch day.
  • Current programmes include platform migrations, streaming launches and subscription work for leading football clubs.
Delivery practiceAcross all projects
  • Raised more than 3,000 Jira issues, with over 2,800 closed.
  • Wrote sprint retrospectives that tracked task status against targets and called out scope creep and late-notice work.
  • Pushed for a better staging sites and longer QA windows after retrospectives in 2025.

How I work

Visible progress

Weekly written status reports, launch must-have lists and risk logs that clients can read for themselves.

Third parties under control

Data providers, ticketing, payments, ad servers and DNS are tracked as dependencies from day one.

Clear scope

Changes are agreed in writing, with notice periods, and anything not agreed is marked as such.

Hands-on at go-live

I plan migrations and test runs, and I'm comfortable fixing a DNS record on launch day.
